Tim brings over 20 years of experience and education to the process of creating and fulfilling life-plans for his clients. Prior to cofounding Newton Financial Solutions, Tim and his son John both worked at Edward Jones as financial advisors. During this time, it became apparent that he and John both had a desire to build a values-driven business that offers a comprehensive mix of investment solutions that can be tailored to fit each client, no matter what income level. This desire to offer clients a broad mix has evolved to helping clients with several aspects of financial planning including investment management, retirement, Social Security filing strategies, tax planning strategies, education planning, charitable giving, and estate planning services. Tim wants to improve his clients’ lives by finding the right solution and by encouraging his clients to be life-long partners of their own financial plan.

Professional
Tim earned a BS from Northwestern University in 1982. Once he became a financial advisor, he obtained certifications as an Asset Management Specialist, a Chartered Retirement Plan Consultant, and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary. He completed his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® certification in 2008.

Personal
He and his wife, Mary Beth, have raised three kids, are enjoying their six grandkids, and enjoy traveling and sailing when the time permits. They both serve as musicians on the worship team for their church, and that love for music has led them to take years of dance lessons. Tim was a pastor's kid and moved all around Minnesota when he was growing up, but he and Mary have lived in the Cambridge area for 35 years now! Tim has had the good fortune of setting foot on all seven continents, thanks to a 2017 trip to Antarctica with his son John. At heart, Tim is a teacher, so reading and learning are passions that he developed early in life and continues to foster.
